Thank you Mr. Ragsdale for confirming what I was thinking.
I am not liberal or conservative. Republican or democrat. I am completely in the middle, and feel that my knowledge on politics is poor. I admit to this. And by admitting to this I feel I cannot be called naive or ignorant because I admittedly just told you that I don’t know much about it.
So there is something I was recently told by my super adorable boyfriend. That he was once spit on while in uniform. He is my Navy boy…<33 Anyway, this started a string of thoughts that led to me telling a couple people about it so I could examine their reaction.
My resulting thought: people are mean. Not all men in the military are there because they “FUCK YEAH AMERICA I LOVE AMERICA”. Some are there because of college, and they had no other way to pay for it. Some are there because their parents pressured them. Some are there simply because they had nothing better to do with their lives. You don’t know their story until you ask. So why don’t you? Sure, some are the stereotypical a-holes that people play out military men to be. But just because an individual is in the military doesn’t mean that he supports the desicions of the U.S. They may not support the war in the slightest. So why are they getting spit on? Because they’re in the military. I’m sure people who are so opposed to the war are for reasons that I’m sure are way more political than I could fathom. I understand this. But what I don’t understand is that people claim to love people and that we should be all for the people…and they express this at times by, for example, spitting on people. What happened to loving men, women, children regardless of race, color, and religion? When did it turn into loving men, women, children regardless of race, color, and religion…oh, except for those in the military? I think people should get off their high horse and stop attacking military individuals, and rather just debate with the individuals that do support what you don’t. Again, not all men in the military support the war, but there are several people who support the war that aren’t in the military. So why not spit on them if you want to spit on someone.
I just wanted to chime in and say that I have the my fullest respect for the individuals in the military. I remember back to a commercial where there is a group of soldiers walking down an airport terminal, and everybody around just stops what they are doing and claps for them as they walk down the hallway. I think back to Pat Tillman, a man who was a NFL player, turning down millions and millions of dollars to join the military and help secure freedom for the people of this country.
If I were to see any citizen have the nerve to spit on one of our proud American Military personel, I would go and punch their lights out.
Yay for being halfway done officially(in my sense) with my last semester of school!
And now I get to officially become the Godfather of my nephew, and see my niece’s 3rd birthday :D
My niece is adorable, she reminded my sister-in-law it was my birthday and wanted to wish me a happy birthday.
I asked her who her favorite uncle was, and she said “Uncle Jonathan”. Best niece ever! hehe :D

So, uh, I kind of stayed up all night talking to someone, and then slept through my classes today >.>
No worries really though, two classes there are powerpoint slides online and then the other class I can just get notes from somebody.
With that, I want to do a Kirby dance.

Friendship, that is what we all strive to have, isn’t it? I mean, to me, your special someone not only is the love of your life, but one of your best friends. The best memories I have involve friends, from the fun nights playing games with my best friend Jason in Colorado, to a crazy weekend in New York getting drunk with people I only knew online before then, and then now chatting late at night with various people. I find myself being able to go without sleep, just to be able to talk to someone who finds myself interesting. Is that because I want to be noticed by others, seeking gratification for myself? Or is it because I truly am only happy when I am around friendly company? I’m more thinking of the latter, and that being alone may just be the worst fear I have. Ten years from now, I want to be able to talk amongst the many friends I have, discuss what is going on in each’s life, and finish it with a nice cuddle with my special someone.
